Rachel began paddling in the marathon circles and achieved quite a reputation for 'plug and chug' paddling. She was a founding member of the Texas Tornadoes Kayak Polo team. She plays polo with a very low stroke rate, but a strong paddling style. This makes her ideal for zone defending.

2003 Pan American Championships 3rd place U17 (with the US Under 21 Men).
