Richard Boult, Sydney, Australia.
Started playing polo around 1981. Was in charge of canoe polo in Australia from around 1984-1991, with a lot of help from Steve Hemsley, Julian Carter and Jill Boult.
Major contributor to the development of International Rules, from 1985 to 1990. (When I've had a few to drink I say "I wrote the rules"). Again, with major help from Steve Hemsley. Used to referee, but was never arrogant enough to make the top rank of referees.
Last official job was Chief Scutineer for 1996 World Championships in Adelaide.
For a while ran a website called "WorldWideCanoePolo". Probably 3 years since I've played or seen canoe polo.
Uncle of
- John Coote, a one-time member of Austrlaian Junior Team,
- Celia Coote, a world champion in Portugal World Championships.
- David Coote, a local player in Sydney, and more recently in the UK.
More recently have been a thorn in the side of people who try to run canoe polo, or canoe polo websites, without listening to the opinions and needs of others enough. So I am very drawn tot his Wiki. But, Im very busy, so will only be able to contribute occasionally.
Also been an administrator on Wiktionary for a couple of years, mostly trying to help get policies working.
